Open Ground specializes in outdoor
learning, delivering projects in schools, teacher training, research and consultancy.
Based near Inverness, in Northern Scotland, we bring a long experience of
making the local area accessible and full of opportunities for learning and
wonder. Open Ground helps teachers develop
skills to make films, maps, stories, surveys, place-names and more in the
landscapes around the school.
Open Ground runs a variety
of exciting projects with schools, going outdoors to do simple and engaging
activities while developing more confident and capable teachers. Open Ground provides
training workshops for teachers and educators at a variety of levels,
including postgraduate, exploring both the techniques and the ethos of
learning in the outdoors.
Through participative and community
based research, Open Ground can help you answer important questions for your community
or context. Open Ground brings experience of
extended and in-depth action research, involving organizations in exploring
and solving questions which matter.
